The 69th Annual Candy Cane Parade along the world-famous Hollywood Beach Broadwalk is taking place on Saturday, December 6th at 7:00 p.m. The Candy Cane Parade on Hollywood Beach is one of the longest running holiday parades in the country. It started back in the mid-1950’s by a group of Hollywood merchants as a way to draw patrons to their shops and businesses. Today it features dozens of lighted floats and vehicles along the parade route entertaining the thousands of spectators who line the Broadwalk.
The parade begins at 7:00 p.m. on the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk at Missouri Street and heads south to Harrison Street.
Parade emcee will be stationed at the Hollywood Beach Theatre at Johnson Street.
Due to the high demand for parking on the barrier island, beginning at 5:00 p.m., parade goers are encouraged to park in one of the downtown parking garages and take the free shuttle to the beach. The downtown parking garages are located at 19th Avenue at Polk Street and 20th Avenue at Van Buren Street. Shuttles will circulate non-stop throughout the evening with the last shuttle leaving the beach at 10:00 p.m. Downtown parking rates apply.
Modified security protocols will be in place for the duration of the event, participant patience is appreciated.
Parade participants are being asked to “Help Keep Hollywood Beautiful” by handing out candy to parade goers, rather than throwing it from floats. This will help reduce waste on the Broadwalk and sandy beach. Parade attendees are encouraged to be #SeenBeingGreen by bringing their reusable water bottles.
Hollywood’s signature holiday event, the Candy Cane Parade is presented in partnership with the Hollywood Community Redevelopment Agency and the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts.
