ABOUT BROTHERS OF OTHERS: CARRY ON MIAMI’S ROCK ROOTS
Eric Clapton, The Allman Brothers & The Eagles are just a few examples of artists that spent time in Miami Beach, FL writing and recording timeless music during the 1970’s. That was followed by decades of DJs, Rappers and an array of everything but rock music. Now, one band carries the torch left behind by the blues-inspired artists of yesteryear. Brothers of Others is a Blues, Soul, Rock & Roll rhythm group with origins very much like the bands we now consider legendary. The band formed when Derek [Cintron], Vic [Kingsley] & Joshua [Stedman] accepted a contract at the Loews Hotel in South Beach for 4 weeks of shows. The guys compiled a list of popular songs with a few originals and hit the stage with powerhouse three-part harmonies, while each member swaps lead vocal, drums, bass and guitar duties. The Loews quickly signed the band for a full year, allowing them to expand their repertoire and stage performance. The Ritz-Carlton South Beach came knocking on the band’s door within months of signing with the Loews and offered the band two nights a week for a year. Throughout this formative year, the band honed their vocal technique, expanded their catalog to include many new original compositions and learned how to entertain an audience for 4 hours, while skipping breaks and never ending without several encores. It is important to note the their audiences tend to favor original songs such as “Every Whisper”, “Bad Year” & “Hold on to Love”, over the cover songs. Stylistically, the group’s performance takes its fans back to the golden era of rock music when successful bands relied on talent, creativity, charisma and raw power. At the beginning of 2014, Brothers of Others settled on a band name and began to perform all over South Florida, performing 189 concerts. Brothers of Others even released a compilation CD titled Songs of Ours featuring previous works by the individual band members. Currently, the band is working on their first full-length album, cultivating an ever-growing fan base and proving that there is still organic and powerful Rock & Roll music coming from Miami Beach, FL. The band continue to perform at the Ritz-Carlton South Beach (Fridays 8:30PM, Sundays 3:00pm) and at the Loews South Beach (Saturdays 9:00PM)
