A heart of platinum: American Heart Association reaches 100 year milestone
The American Heart Association is celebrating its centennial year of fighting heart disease and stroke in South Florida. Earlier this month, the nonprofit hosted its signature South Florida Heart Ball at the Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood. Local 10 Anchor and Reporter Jenise Fernandez emceed the event, which raised more than $1.1 million.
“The Heart Ball isn’t just an event; it’s a movement,” said Marisol Garcia, Executive Director for the American Heart Association’s Greater Miami and Fort Lauderdale market. “We thank our supporters, sponsors, and community partners for their unwavering commitment to healthier hearts. As we look toward the next century, we remain relentless in our pursuit of longer, healthier lives for all.”
